FAQs

What size jobs do you accept?

Whether you are a small home-based enterprise or a large corporation, we can provide the same quality service to your door.

What if I only need to use your service as a one-off ?

Whatever your requirements, ShredRight can meet your needs with the highest standards of security and compliance.

Why can't we use an office shredder?

Most office shredders are unable to handle anything other than small quantities of paper. Also you will not have any written proof that your material has been shredded securely, which may be required by your customers.

Do I need to sort my papers before they can be shredded?

No. You don’t even need to remove paper clips, staples or binder clips.

As well as paper we have other types of confidential waste like computer discs and so on. Can you handle these?

ShredRight use large heavy-duty industrial shredding systems, that destroy anything from paper and magnetic media to off-spec products.

How do we know when our material will be destroyed?

ShredRight commit to destroy all material either on-site or within 24-hours of collection. Customers are welcome to witness destruction in person at our destruction centres.

Does the Data Protection Act apply to my company?

The Data Protection Act applies to all companies keeping computer and manual files of customer and staff records.

How do you dispose of shredded materials?

ShredRight recycle shredded material wherever possible. Paper is baled and sent away for reprocessing whilst plastic and miscellaneous materials are sent to a power generation facility as fuel.

Do you provide on-site shredding service?

Yes, ShredRight offer customers secure on-site destruction of their confidential materials.

How can we be sure our important company data doesn't fall into the wrong hands?

ShredRight staff are all security vetted to BS7858 standard so you can be sure anybody handling your confidential material has been properly checked. All our vehicles have a live satellite tracking system installed. All material is offloaded inside a secure warehouse, protected by alarms and restricted entry system.

What constitutes confidential information?

All businesses produce different types of confidential waste, all of which could be extremely costly if they ever fell into the wrong hands.

Some examples of these confidential materials include:

  • Customer lists
  • Financial records
  • Computer printouts
  • Medical records
  • Personnel files
  • Sales statistics
  • Account records
  • Legal documents
  • Advertising misprints
  • Cancelled cheques
  • Tax records
  • Invoices
  • Price lists
  • New product proposals
  • Correspondence and memos
  • Credit card receipts
  • Inventory lists
  • Outdated business records
  • Competitive information

Where do we store confidential materials that are waiting to be shredded?

ShredRight provide customers with locked security consoles to safely store confidential waste before it is shredded. They blend in with any office space and are placed in convenient locations throughout your workplace. For added security, only one designated contact within your organisation has a key to access your consoles.

How often do you come to shred?

ShredRight agree a shredding schedule that is appropriate for your specific organisation and the amount of sensitive information that you produce.

You may require shredding on a daily, weekly, monthly, or even an annual basis. Whatever your requirements, the frequency of your shredding service can be modified to suit you.

What happens if our console is full before the scheduled collection time?

ShredRight will be happy to organise an extra collection for you. If you find that you’re often filling your consoles before the next scheduled service date, we can provide you with additional security consoles or alternatively increase the frequency of your service.
